Silver box or not Silver box

When NTL upgraded from 300k to 1Mb about six months ago, they said they had run out of new set top boxes, so they installed a modem alongside the box. I called yesterday asking for the modem and grey set top box to be replaced by the new silver single set top box. The help desk guy suggested this was not a good idea as the silver boxes dont work properly and that I am better off with the modem!

Is this right? Or are they just fobbing me off.

They wont change it now for you as the modem is capable for the new speeds they are releasing where as the samsung digibox's are not.

your better of with the modem in other words... :-)
