View Full Version : bbc advertising
if bbc does not advertise - licence fee etc
then why, when you visit their pages - eg radiotimes page - is there a naff an irritating freeserve flash advert flickering away?
I think the radio times and the bbc web page (not sure about the web page) doesn't get funded from the licence fee
BBCi is paid for by your licence fee so is ad-free. The Radio Times is produced by BBC Enterprises, which is the Beeb's commercial arm. It is not allowed to use the licence fee to fund commercial activities, but profits from them can be ploughed back into the BBC's TV, radio and internet output.
There website is however and cost's around £100 million a year !!
Infact some channels dont have budgets as big

And then add up all their radio stations to that. Just how many do they have 20,30+

Yeah, why should our licence fee's go to local stations that people in the other regions can't listen to?
They should be funded commercially.

its about time the licence fee was abolished and the bbc started advertising ,it would save them money in the long run as well because each half hour program would be at least 5 minutes shorter so they can get 6 episodes for the cost of 5 :dunce:
