View Full Version : Digital Set Top Box - Freeview
Hi there
I am looking for a STB and wondered if there is one which people would recommend and the best place to get it from. I would like to go STB > DVDR >TV does this require two scart sockets. Also seen things like Interactive / 7 Day EGP and I am not exactly sure what these relate to ?
Thank you.
Mike

I'm assuming you are referring to Freeview STBs? Cable STBs are supplied only via the cable provider.
Could I ask why as unless you are doing illegal things with it then it will be no good to you
Oops as said above :)

OK, I'll edit thread title just to make that clear ;) I'll also move the thread to the alternatives to NTL / Telewest TV area.
As for the scart sockets, ideally you want 2 on your TV, and the STB, but if you only have one you could get away with it, but may need a scart multiadapter.
Ideal connection would be STB #1> TV #1
STB #2 > DVDR
DVDR > TV#2
Make sure the STB can output in RGB on both scarts.
Sorry Mike I didn't realise that you meant a free view box
Saw on eof these in Argos Wharfedale DV832B what do people think ?
