hi everybody, i have just found this web, hope it is good;)
I join ntl last week but it seems that the speed of the connection is not fitting my contract with ntl (which is 1.5mb/s).
here is my speed test result:
Wed, 5 Oct 2005 21:21:46 UTC
1st 128K took 1547 ms = 84727 Bytes/sec = approx 705 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 1391 ms = 94229 Bytes/sec = approx 784 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 1453 ms = 90208 Bytes/sec = approx 751 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 1422 ms = 92174 Bytes/sec = approx 767 kbits/sec
according to http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/speedtest (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/speedtest.html)
It is really bizarrerie:mad:
i live in stoke ST5 area.......
any suggestion for that??

:welcome:

Hmm... That looks very much like the 750k service. Your cable modem might have been provisioned incorrectly - best to give the Business guys a ring on 0800 052 0800. :)

All the modems ntl supply can support 1.5Mb service. What decides the speed is the config file that the modem downloads when you first turn it on, and the local server. Yours might be setup incorrectly, which is something that can be easily fixed by people with the right system access!
