After watching Henry VIII for the last 2 weeks, it appears that nothing much has changed since the 16th century, with all sorts of shenanigans going on in the palace. With Paul Burrell revealing letters and stuff (allegedly) from Prince Phillip, it`s a good job that public executions aren`t still on the books.

Burrel is a complete ****** in my book. Whats comical about it all though is the fact that The Mirror hold him up as some sort of bastien of truth and virtue. They would slate him into the ground for what he's saying if they didn't have a contract with him. Much like all tabloid newspapers, their stances are rarely based on whats right and true but rather by what corner they've decided to stand in.

Just wait until some little gold digger decides to declare that she was "raped" by him :smokin:

By his public disclosures, Paul Burrell is making life uncomfortable for the Royal Family in the same way that the Royal Family made life uncomfortable for Diana.

Diana was wedded and bedded to produce heirs and once that job was done Charles carried on his love affair with Camilla who was too old and possibly unwillingly to have children. Or maybe she did not want to be Queen.

In fairness to her, Charles should never have married Diana. He should have had the guts to marry Camilla and if necessary renounce his claim to the throne but Charles wants it all.

As Blackthorn has pointed out the behaviour of Royal males is reprehensible. There is no honour, no integrity and no commitment.

The sad thing was that the Queen stood by and let it happen.

Perhaps the most appalling thing is that even six years after Diana's death there has been no inquest. Maybe the Royal Family is hoping that it will all fade away but people have long memories and when Charles dies I really doubt that he'll get the massive outpouring of people's grief that Diana got.

It's also very sad how the two princes have forgotten the teachings of their mother and are slowly being transformed into replicas of their father.

The denounciation of Paul Burrell by Prince William is somewhat tinged with hypocrisy.

The Royal Family will only get closure when their secrets are revealed and there is nothing left to hide.

Though William styles himself as an advocate of his mother I don't recall any efforts by him to insist that there was an inquest for his mother. Maybe he does not want to know the truth, but many others do.

Nor too do we see William following his mother's example and championing the causes of the poor, the sick, the homeless and those injured by mines.

Instead we see a young man, who like his father, is dedicated to the good things of life..wine, women, song and probably other more illegal pleasures. He's a prince who likes to party even to the point, where it compromises his own security and threatens the employment of those charged with his protection.

William appeals to Burrell to stop but does not resort to legal action, which suggests that much of what he has said is true. The fact that Diana sought to satisfy her needs beyond the bounds of a loveless marriage is more an indictment of the Royal Family than it is of her.

William's appeal to stop because it hurts his father cuts no ice because Charles did not stop even though he knew that his actions were hurting Diana.

Paul Burrell's revelations however unsavoury are only a reflection of life in the Royal Household. It's the actual events in the Royal Household and the roles played in the downfall of Diana by the Royal family and their retinue that merit our true condemnation.

they say 'be sure your sins will find you out' and aren't they just? until the whole truth of the situation comes out, people will speculate as to what happened. So an inquest of the sort we haven't had, will hopefully solve the problem and ease the guilt of those who seek to hide behind the skirts of the royals. lets face it if they didn't want their dirty linen to be washed in public then they should have been a lot more circumspect with their behaviour! And as those put up as examples to others, they should not be above the laws either. :nono:
