Im currently installing xp pro on my new system. Ive got to the windows network set up and am being asked the settings for my modem ie proxy settings etc etc.

I need help in finding where these setting can be found.

Assuming you are connecting the XP machine directly into the cable modem using a network card then you don't need to specify a proxy etc.

However do make sure you have a firewall running before connecting to the net.
