hi guys, i phoned ntl sales on monday night and asked for an upgrade to digital. the salesperson told me that he would ring me with an install date tomorrow evening, but it is now tuesday night and i ringed cs who then transferred me to sales who then told me that their was no record of me asking to be upgraded to digital, so i asked the sales rep to do it for me. little did i know that the same think was about happen and the sales person says he did not know how to upgrade me and usually he would transfer me to someone elce who did. he took down my account number, mobile and house and that i had asked for 3 for £30 with 1 mg bb, talk unlimited 24, extra converter and free family pack for 6 months. he PROMISED that some one would give me a call after 5pm tomorrow. Should i stay with ntl or swith all my services to sky and bt

P.S. on the date that u phone ntl and ask for an upgrade to digital, usually how long do u have to wait b4 they will install it.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME :(

Don't worry m8.....this seems to be fairly standard cs for all the big firms irrespective of the product they are selling......ntl don't seem to worse than any other firm (I have had pretty good service from them-but cr*p service from lloyds, barclaycard, natwest, barclays, mesh etc) :)
I'd stick with ntl--at least your cs can't get much worse :D

well i can now say that if they do not phone by 5pm i will call ntl sales and ask for an upgrade time and date that is giving them 2hrs to get me sorted :) hopefully fingers crossed X i will let u know the result ;)

So I would surmise from the above that you are a juvenile that struggles with the written word, and your paternal parent struggles with IT?

Do you have a responsible adult available that has a modicum of communicative skill and conceivably the wherewithall to make an intelligable phonecall?

What does he need to be computer literate for if all he has to do is ring up for an upgrade? CS should not be dealing with you either unless you're a noted authority on the account.

Bloody hell, is it any wonder this forum has such a rep for being self rightous. True, you guys get the job done, but is there any reason to be so unpleasant about it all?

Let's just see how this goes - the OP will send me the account holder's name, address and account number if they haven't heard from ntl by the end of today. I'll then pass those details on to ntl who will contact the person whose name is on the account. If the OP is not the named person then he will not be given any information about this matter unless as OB says, he is named as having authority to do so.

I'm not disputing that people are being ultimately helpful, but any time anyone shows any form of flaw on here (even typing in - god forbid - a format recognised across the rest of the internet) they're torn to shreds. It's pretty much the reason I hardly post on here any more, apart from being getting help as a utility, the sense of community is really agressive. No doubt i'll be shot down in flames for daring to question. Kind of proves the point though.

IIRC you can only have one name on the account but if he's given ntl permission for you to act on his behalf then that's ok :)

well i called and the install is booked for next wed between 12 and 6 :)
