Help required please.
My browsing and download speeds have been getting slower and slower recently and Telewest support is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
Pentium 3 800Mhz 256 Mb SB4100 Cable modem 1Mb line
Tried everything I can think of and also a load of stuff suggested by trawling the net (slowly)
Now that you don't have to have a pre-assigned MAC I tried plugging my work laptop into the modem and got instant and significant increase. So it would seem that it's a problem with my home pc.
Netstat doesn't show any backdoor stuff but I do have about 12 TCP entries - partially made up by my home network.
Tried disconnecting my home network with no significant improvement
Anyone got any ideas please?
