Our newly installed set top box is a Scientific Atlanta, there is a 'modem ' sign forever flashing on it, is there a modem inside ? we had Blueyonder installed via a seperate cable from the brown box to a room upstairs where the PC is.

Does b/band also come to the set top box ? can a PC be connected here also via the ethernet socket or is it so the upstairs modem can have a cable to come down to the stb to use TV as monitor, the lack of instruction booklet for newcomers is sadly lacking & the engineer seemed clueless also

The set top box is just a big cable modem, you can get broadband through it but I beleif you will need to contact telewest and ask togo onto the self install service.

Other downside is settop boxes can only take speeds of upto 1mb.
