Need BB but want to keep phone number.

I need to get a BB package of some kind installed at my mum's place that enables her to keep her phone number. BT's basic package looks a bit stingy with only 1GB of usage allowed per month. Does anyone know of a basic package that will enable her to retain her phone number but will also provide more flexible/generous monthly usage?

Does it need to be ADSL?

Afraid so. The exchange in Pevensey is ADSL enabled. Having had a look around I think I'll probably go with Tiscali who do all their packages with the option of not having a phone :) .
