Can anyone advise me please on how I set up my pc to use both dial up for fax and ntl cable. Presently using XP with an ntl modem using ethernet connection through a wireless router. PC is fitted with an internal modem

Your PC will default to the cable connection, however using a fax is slightly different... which software do you use for sending/receiving faxes?
I presume you have the internal modem connected to your phoneline at the moment?

ok first thing make sure your modem is on ( you might need to switch it on from the bios as a lot seem to be off as default now )
and see if it was shut off that xp picks it up as being there ( check for an install disk if it doesnt )
then plug your telephone cable in
then start you fax software and find the setup option
and you should be flying from there
i would check your browser is set never to dial for a conection as well
