Hi all,

Sometime in the last week or so (I've been away) my 3 Meg connection seems to have become 1.5 Meg or thereabouts. Downloading off Usenet I am only getting 150 kB/s or so and I have tried various speed tests which all point to a reduced speed of around 1.5 Mb/s.

Does anyone know why this may have happened? I am on a SACM and am now connected directly, after removing router to eliminate that.

What's ntl's customer service like nowadays, not had to ring them for a while but last time spent hours on hold. :(

Thanks in advance.

CS isn't too bad depending on time of day, normally you get through within 15-20 mins of calling. Ring them and ask them to check your tier level. If you are on SACM or STB you can check your level yourself as well.

How do I check it myself then?

Go to http://192.168.100.1 and login with UN and PW of root.

You can then see what speed your modem is running at upstream and downstream :)

Don't tinker with anything while you are in there though lol Just look at the connection details and post back with the number (or a screenshot ) :)
