Virgin Media have updated their home phone calls plans

http://store.virginmedia.com/phone/compare-fibre-optic/index.html

The new plans all now have inclusive calls to all UK mobiles and 0845 numbers.

The new top plan now covers all 08 numbers and calls to 30 international destinations.

Seems a good deal to existing customers automatically migrate to the equivalent new plan? Thanks for the info Benmcr

No there isn't an automatic migration. However it's a simple change to swap to the new plans.

How? Can it be done online, or do you have to phone up? Will it affect contracts/discounts etc?

I rang up today to change to one of these new plans. First spoke to Customer Service who were useless .. said I would pay £5 more ! Rang back and went through to Retentions and he switched me over and saved me £4pcm.

I had Talk Unlimited and MultiTalk 1000. I dropped these two and added the Talk More Anytime plan ..

Try expanding the the "more info" links on the quoted page. They quote 0845 numbers as chargeable, & the UK mobiles entry points you at the Talk Mobile Extra tariff being necessary. Looks as if this page has not been updated from the old packages.

This link http://virginmedia.com/shop/bundles/vip.html
says that the VIP package has Talk Weekends and

this link http://www.virginmedia.com/shop/bundles.html
says that the VIP package has

'Unlimited anytime calls to UK landlines, all 08 numbers, all UK mobile networks and 30 international destinations.'

Incidentally I get 'Talk Unlimited' with my VIP package.

Could you advise which is correct and what phone option should/could I be on with VIP.

There are several variations of the VIP bundle, each of which will come with a different Talk Plan.

The current version of the VIP bundle was launched this month and comes with Talk More Anytime.

Unfortunately both pages linked above are incorrect for what the Talk plan covers. I have flagged this to colleagues to be corrected as soon as possible.

Older versions of the VIP bundle came with either Talk Unlimited or Talk Unlimited Extra.

I rang up yesterday and they moved me over to 'Talk More Anytime'. No other changes (price, contract etc).

Nice to see caller display is still a stonking price.

Though I think the £7.25 myvm is quoting me is slightly higher than it should be :o

But what about talk more anytime like you asked?

TAZMANUK

Thats what i said, i said its £8 not £15 as the £15 one is talk more international not talk more anywhere then just started copying and pasting generic information about the talk more international.

---------- Post added at 17:39 ---------- Previous post was at 16:24 ----------

Did online chat again and finally got it sorted just a swap that's all it is at same price.

Be simpler just to migrate all talk unlimited onto the new one if pricing is same

This might be a silly question, but I renewed my contract today and was put on a bundle which includes (and shows in my online account) as the XL phone package. Is that also known as talk more anytime? Cos for the life of me I can't find the XL package anywhere on any bundle or tariff that I've seen today, and I'm being badgered by the other half to find out before she starts using the phone during the day. Ta.

XL was the old package, you need to call up and ask to be changed to Talk More Anytime, the cost is the same at £8 per month but it gives you calls to UK mobiles, 0845 & 0870 numbers

I've just called them and they've said I am on Talk More Anytime even though it shows as XL on my account. Thanks for replying.

Have you got a screenshot of that (without any personal information obviously). According to what I've been told, the phone plan name should show up on all the information you get about your account - rather than M/L/XL etc.

Virgin has missed a trick here, they could have gave all customers this with the price increase to soften the blow
