My Father of 84 has been receiving daily nuisance calls (some at 02.30 in the morning), requesting he pays the money he owes to the caller, threatening violence, inviting him to join a gay club etc etc. These have been going on for a week or so. Virgin will charge to block the calls, but if you request it as a duty of care, Virgin will credit the cost which will be shown on your bill.
He says the call seems to originate from a call centre judging by the background noise, of which only 2 call centres have his christian name........ 1 of which is Virgin Media......

Sorry to hear about your father's problems, but you do realise if your father is on the open electoral roll, his details are available to anyone who pays for those details....

Who's the other?

Also just to add any credit of the Anonymous Caller Rejection service would have been done on a one-off basis, there isn't any formal 'duty of care' process

Neither will stop people conducting social research from calling him.

Overseas call centres ignore TPS, unfortunately.

The caller has indicated he is in Manchester.

So who's the other callcentre?

If the calls are abusive then call the police, get a crime reference number and if VM are like any other telephone provider they'll change the number for free..

Just blocking unknown calls won;t help as most places just fake a CLID

The caller has indicated he is in Manchester.a) I don't believe VM has a call centre in Manc
b) they could be fibbing ;)
