I have a superhub and my area is 100mb ready, so will it just need to be turned on or does a tech need to come out and fiddle with my superhub?

The lady on the phone said the technician will be coming out to adjust the green box next week for my service, didn't say if he would need to come by though.

Anyone know the process for a 50-100 upgrade?

As far as I know it depends on the network levels. Most 50 > 100Mbit are 'office only' i.e. no engineer required if that is all you are having done

You won't be forced to have one

you will have the choice, of either keeping your current modem or using the superhub

I phoned up yesterday to go from 50 to 100 and they told me I would need an engineer visit ("to check power levels"), but I replied that I was told the same thing when I went from 30 to 50.

I then explained that the engineer came and said that there was absolutely no need to do the power level check and that all he did was phone the activation line for me. (I've checked the levels myself and they're well within the limits listed on the Virgin Media forums - despite the cable being installed pre-Telewest).

The sales person then said that they could do it without an engineer visit, but that I'd be responsible for a call out charge if something went wrong.

Of course, nothing has gone wrong!

(We already had a Superhub)

That's rubbish you wouldn't be charged for the call out.

The only time VM charges you is if you damage or alter something and it causes problems, or of course you ask for them to come out for something not fault related ..

That's what I thought.

It wouldn't have made sense anyway. I'm saving them money by not having a callout in the first place.
