Whoops, VM have made a blunder. Here's the story.

I have been paying, monthly, as follows:

50meg: £25.00
Phone w/e package: £13.90
Caller Display: £2.05
Total = £40.95

According to the web site the new fee structure is as follows:

50/100meg: £25.50
Phone w/e package: £13.90
Caller Display: £2.25
Total = £41.65

Which would give me a price increase of 70p. The letter I recieved told me that the price increase would be £2.45 however, so I called up and got a nice Indian lady who explained the breakdown to me.

In reality, it seems that caller display is indeed going up 20p and the phone line rental stays at £13.90 but internet fees are going up £2.25 and not 50p as advertised on the web site. She explained to me that the web site had not been updated yet. This is at gone 16:00h in the afternoon of the 2nd April, when the price changes came in on the 1st April according to my letter from VM.

So my price rise will be £2.45 after all, and the lesson is; Don't believe everything you read on the VM web site. The price of 100meg taken with a phone line is now £27.25.

Very sloppy VM. Very sloppy indeed.

caller display going up and wasnt it supposedly going free before?

Yea but, no but. That piece of the rise at least was shown on the VM web site. Shame that the cost of 100meg when taken with a phone line is still showing the wrong price of £25.50 when it should be showing £27.25.

funny thing is that those who got it for free are still getting it for free :(

how did they get it free?

VMs plan was to offer it for free to everyone, those who asked for it at the time, sometime around November last year got it for free, after they started charging, it was still free to the others

Very sloppy VM. Very sloppy indeed.No blunder, the price of the website is for new customers and existing customers on the new Collections

That better not prove to be true or I'll be calling up and complaining hard. I'll pay the price on the can, nothing more.

By moving onto one of the Collections you'll get the same price

Except I don't need telly from VM. I only need phone and broadband. I'll pay the advertised price, but I won't be suckered in to paying an inflated keep-net price because they think I won't start looking around.

Handily, Infinity has been enabled in Eastleigh already and was set to have been enabled in Southampton by 31st March. So, whichever I come under, I should now have the Infinity option.

Of course you may be lucky.
