Hi

I have been reading through a lot of posts and there seems to be conflicting stories.

I am currently on 30mb with a Superhub.

I am on Bristol Aztec West and it says we are not due the improved upload speeds until April, although my upload speeds changed from 1mb to 3mb months ago.

We are also not due 100mb until May but again, if I check the "what services are in my area" on the VM website, it shows 100mb is available when at one time, it only said 50mb.

My question is simple, if I ring up and ask for the free upgrade to 60mb to happen immediately, and keeping my upload still at 3mb, will this happen or will they simply tell me to go away and be patient. lol.

Many thanks for any answers.

Log onto My VM and there will be a big green box above your bill amounts. If that says you can upgrade, then you can click through and upgrade. You shouldn't have to recontract, through some people (eg, me) have had to.

Just did this and it says my area isn't ready when I clicked the green box.

So just to confirm, if I phone up and ask, I will be wasting my time?

Maybe it will change after May when the upload speed and 100mb rollouts have completed.

Thanks

Between October 2012 and June 2013

Bearing in mind Bristol is nearly last on the Upload Speed and 100mb rollout, I would guess it will be nearer June 2013.

But I was reading other people saying they were not due yet on this roll out, but were managing to get the upgrade early if they asked.

Customer Services or Customer Relations can't tell if the is enough capacity the codes are there and some people have reported the Downstream has been doubled but you won't get the increased upload speed until the upgrades have taken place, I say roll on July for my upgrade.

I am not sure why people are getting upgraded early but ringing them and asking you may get a suprise but note the upload won't increase until your area is due the upgrade.

Well 100meg is available in most areas now so can't see why you can't upgrade as long as your not upgrading to 120meg.

all this double speed sounds good if there is no fup, after all sky are offering 40mb with no usage limits at all means 40mb all day long no matter how much you download. Vm usually cut the speed by 75% after you hit a certain limit, my old 30mb worked out slower over the course of a day than my up to 20mb with sky. I get 9 - 9.5mb all day long, i could get my old 30mb cut to 7.5mb after an hour & if i was unlucky that would happen twice a day

the checker for my area shows April - July, I've spoken to customer services several time about other issues and mentioned the broadband speed double, First I was told if I order a telephone line they can give me the upgrade straight away. I've then been told its been pushed back to Dec 2012, even though 100mb is available in my area......and other people have been upgraded early...
