Hi there i currently have a 10mb internet connection with virgin and it drives me mad, constantly slow at least once a week it becomes un-usable as if were being capped (dont download lots). I called to enquire about the price to upgrade to 30mb. Firstly i was told that would cost me about 15. After i questioned her she passed me onto somebody else and he told me it would cost £10.51 but i would go straight to the 60Mb as soon as i received the superhub (which would be free of charge) as they dont do upgrades to 30mb anymore.
All i wanted to do was upgrade to 30mb and wait for the doubling later in the year, but apparently now i have to go straight to 60mb.

I was just curious if this pricing seems right? £10.51 extra a month (no superhub charge). Many thanks in advance for any input!

If you upgrade to XL, then yes you'll get the double speed now, all existing customers upgrading their tier will get their speed double brought forward (except for those customers going to XXL in areas where 100Mbit isn't yet available)

The cost is the same whether you got XL 30 now and 60Mbit later on, or whether you get XL 60 now. Also the cost upgrade does sound about right to go from L to XL

Does that mean if as a 50Mb subscriber if I called VM to upgrade to 100Mb as its available in Stevenage, they'd upgrade me and drop the price to that of 50Mb?

Looks like a bad deal to me. When the same question was asked a year ago, it was £3.50 a month more, now it's £10.50 a month more. (£126.00 pa more - with another 12 month contract).

Actually need to reread the pricing lol. L > XL is £4, so it's possible that the OP is on a lower than usual bundle deal for it to be £10. I was thinking of L > XXL

Could you comment on the "superhub (which would be free of charge)", is that true or false?

Hi there regarding my current bundle I'm on XL tv and phone, with L broadband and two TiVo boxes.

It's not, I rang up the other day to see if we could get an early upgrade but our area isn't 100Mb yet so can't get the upgrade to 60Mb.

I was quoted £5.00 / month to upgrade from 10M to 30M ( I am at the moment on 90 day free upgrade before I decide)from retentions two weeks ago

Ye I did a bit of looking around on the Internet before I rang up and got the impression it would be around the £5 mark, so when one person says £15 and the other £10 I thought it seemed a bit high.

Out of interest how do I get through to customer retentions? When I got these different prices I was speaking to sales and I want to make sure I get the right price!

Hi there, spoke to retentions just and was told from the first of april my bill would be going up to £60.50 with the price changes, and that i could have the up to 60mb broadband for only £2.50 extra. £15 pound extra to £2.50 extra is a massive difference! Thanks for your help!
