Vote for how you use the superhub or will use the super when getting one eventually since it is only standard kit available

There really should be more options for Router mode.

Router mode - Very occasionally have to reset the wireless

I ripped it apart and used it as a linux development board?

Andrew, I think your getting mixed up about the increased ping and jitter - Its the superhubs modem that increases both, putting it into modem mode doesnt make it go down, its to do with the way in which the superhubs modem buffers packets

using *modem mode* (with a netgear WNDR3700) halved my ping & jitter... I did the tests on speedtest.net & pingtest.net etc :)

Same here. I have the same router. Never-the-less Superhub latency on 100Mb appears on the tbb monitor to be not as good as VMNG300 on 50Mb. In both cases my jitter is never more than 1ms.

My PC was off from 10pm til 5.30am. The VMNG300 displayed lower maximum latency, than the SH under similar circumstances.

I know this is anecdotal and unscientific, but it is the best I can do.

I've voted "modem mode - wireless on superhub is poor"

But the truth is:

"Modem mode other - my own Linksys router is configured how I like it, read all the stuff about the superhub before receiving it so haven't bothered trying superhub router functions"

I will have to dig out my old WRT54GS at the weekend and see how that works and whether it reduces latency and jitter.

Similar story here. SHUB in modem-mode, I've only been on VM Internet since Jan 2012 so have no experience of anything else. That said I never expected to run the SHUB anything other than modem-mode and that was a major factor in not coming to VM sooner.

Despite being very sceptical about the quality of the VM Internet service I've had no reason for complaint so far other than installation technician being a complete joke.

Best regards
David

I use mine in router mode although my jitter and ping are crap but need the wireless as don't have another router to test.
