nope, but when that has happened to me in the past it has only ever last 4 hours or so before they fix whatever is wrong. If you are still having probs now post your power levels and we'll take a look. Normally stuff like that is a problem with upstream power on the network.

Hi thanks for the reply, i just turned the PC off last night and watched a film, seems ok this morning.

Yeah, you defo need to be giving them a call about that otherwise you'll continue to suffer from intermittent faults

the VMNG cant cope with anything above 6 (? - could be 8, correct me if im wrong) so no wonder your having issues

that's good, it is your downstream that is causing you the probs

ok thanks, is it best to say i its the downstream when i phone or just say it keep dropping the connection ?

---------- Post added at 11:55 ---------- Previous post was at 11:21 ----------

OK just phoned 150, they said there is no fault on the modem and then sent a signal down to reset the router and my modem, the guy on the other end said this will fix my problems ?

he is talking out of his bum, all he has done is a remote reboot of the modem which is no different that you unplugging it and plugging it back in again. Ring them back and tell them your downstream power is too high which is causing your connection to drop and you want someone out to fix it. The plebs in India won't know what you are talking about. If you are online atm they'll think everything is alright and fob you off with sopme rubbish. You might need to ring back tomorrow morning around 8 and hopefully you'll get to speak to someone in the UK,

Haha I had that once too. "Sending signals". Quite the joy.

thanks for the help guys i have someone coming out tomorrow, the guy on the other end of the phone this morning was adamant that there was nothing wrong with modem and that there was nothing wrong with the downstream power levels.

anyway at least i have someone coming out to take a look and hopefully replace the modem!

i think vmng300 can work comfortable between -7 and 8 but mines is currently working at -9 and prior to that it was workign at 8

modme shouldnt be replaced, it requires a attenutor fitted onto the modem to bring th epower levles down, oh the agent you spoek too is wrong anything over 8 and cusotmer having conenciton problems a tech should be booked without querries

the important thing is that an engineer is coming. Tell him you have had a look at your power levels and they are dodgy and hopefully he'll do the same then fix it. Don't let them fob you off with just swapping out the modem because that won't fix the problem. Fitting an attenuator is a 30 second job and will fix it straight away.
