The only thing anyone needs to know about Playstation Vita is.............

Who is stupid enough to buy it on release when we all know the price will drop by at least a third within 3 months. Its over priced just like the DS was, £150 is the upper limit most people will pay for a handheld

Stephen

Its not about being stupid, people know that prices change over time. Same thing happens with all tech products. I have bought almost every games console since the SNES at launch simply because I love playing games and want to be one of the first to get the newest system.

For people that buy them the price doesn't factpr into their purchases. I bought my 3DS a few months after launch at the full price about 2 months before it dropped. Didn't bother me that it did, as Nintendo supported all their customers paying full price with a large number of free game downloads.

My PS3 cost me £425, I was happy to pay that due to it being a brand new system and a Blu Ray player.

I've played on a Vita and its really a nice machine but will not be buying as I have a 3DS and an iPad for most of my handheld gaming needs along with my GS2 phone for the occasional play.

<snip I have bought almost every games console since the SNES at launch simply because I love playing games and want to be one of the first to get the newest system.<snip>.

I'm the same I imported many consoles back in the day, the Famicom(NES) Superfamicom(SNES) Sega Genisis(mega drive) PC-Engine, Neogeo...... I even remember importing NeoGeo cartridges for over £100 back in the 90's.

But its different these days, the 3DS launched at £230ish and was £130 within a few months. I also bought a 60Gb PS3 for £425 and sold it for £600 when they briefly had some kind of hype around them when Sony stopped making them. But a Vita will not make any impact on releaseand will take a big price hit pretty quickly.

Yes adopting early WAS fun, but not anymore.....Now you're just getting plain and simple ripped off.

I don't agree, the Vita is a very powerful console and graphically I think it is almost close to Some earlier launch PS3 games. You are paying for a solid powerful piece of kit. Nothing like the handhelds of days gone by.

Sony has revealed another surprise for those of you planning to pick up the soon to be released PS Vita. If you decide to go for the premium 3G model, Sony has just announced that you’ll be getting a free game to sweeten the deal, on top of all the goodies you’re likely to get from retailers.

However that sounds like it is for the US market
