Hi

I am currently redecorating our living room and the isolator box is an old Telewest box that is broken (it has been since we moved in but was hidden away). We are now re-arranging the living room and the isolator box will be visible.

I would like to simply replace the box for a new one but I don't want to pay Virgin £75 to fit a new box for me.

Does anyone know of where I can get a a replacement isolator box please.

If this is not in the correct section, accept my apologies.

Thanks

If it's broken, then just remove it.

Just call in and report it as a fault and do not mention decorating.

But if it's not faulty the customer will get charged a call out fee.

if it is damaged and hanging off the wall then its a fault so the should be no charge.

Again that needs to be booked as a special request order, not a fault call as its not a fault, it's cosmetic

I expect the agent will book it for them if they ring up.

thats if they know what it is in the first place and don't have to put the OP on hold to then tell him theres a 50 odd pound charge!

just a find a man in a VM van, buy him a drink if needs be it'll save you the aggro of having to explain it to a support agent

Or if you were to order (for example) a V+ or TiVo that require a manned install, ask them to change it then ;)

They would not have the kit to do so as they will probably be installers only.

as mentioned above any installers would be willing to help or a drink, if you spot one around it's always worth asking :)

Most installers would carry few Iso housings, and for a drink all would guarantee a full signal check and tap terminate service in the cab as well:)

Any female installers around?
