Line hum

Ok,Over the last few months i have had a hum on the line and it seems to be getting worse,Thought it may be the phone (cordless) so changed that,Moved it away from electrical stuff etc etc even borrowed and old style phone but still the line hum..Any ideas anyone or will it be a callout.Cheers.

do you get the hum on all sockets in the house?

We only have the one socket,Even when i am talking to someone they can hear it at their end as well.

Sounds lie your drop cable is earthing
