Hi all,
Got my 50Mb Installed this morning, jumped ship from ADSL+,
I haven't a clue what these stats mean, totally different from DSL.
How do they look?, would appreciate a little help.
Thanks in advance
LoA

From what I know it seems that you have got 50MB down and 5MB up so it looks well to me. ( But what do I know?)

The easiest way is how is it running?

Thanks for the reply.
It seems great, had one little buffer on tvcatchup, but thats all.
So far so good.

19.1 dBmV?

I thought the tollerance was something around -6 to +6 with being as near to 0 as being ideal.

if so, thats way to strong signal surely?

Could you do a speedtest just out of curiosity.

Not if you want to fry an egg on it….. since the dual-band hub is currently not consistently reliable for it's original design purpose the occasional Romanian VM contract fitter has been known to attempt to activate it as a fast food fryer instead! :(

Sorry to interrupt, but from the replies, I have a slight problem with power levels been to high.

Could someone offer any advice, as how to sort this out.
Thanks

Engineer booked for Fri, thanks all.
Hopefully this will get the power levels down before the SH implodes.

I hope the OP is seeking compensation from VM for wasting their time! I did when it happend to me and got a free month (£38) as an apology.

This is yet another example of the installation tech not doing their job properly - Levels don't go up by 18dB on their own

When are VM going to realise that it's both :

a) More efficient and cost effective
b) Better for the customer

to do the job once rather than take two visits.

These examples make a mockery of paid installs...

Hi All,

Virgin Media Engineer just left, fitted an attenuator, said we are to close to the catv sink outside, that was giving the high power levels.
So are my stats any better now?
