Previously I was on VM's 50mb which never gave me any bother. Decided to upgrade to 100mb with the engineer coming today to set it up. After seeing the problems so many of you's have been having I tried my luck to see if I could keep the existing modem but had no luck.

Trying to set up the new superhub has turned out to be a nightmare running into different problems.

1. After the hub activated I've been getting various speeds ranging from as low as 10mb through to the full 98mb. However Most of the time it hovers around 50mb mark.

2. I keep having to reset to factory settings any time I try to make a change such as even a new Password.

3. If I have made a change and still have a connection, I can't make any further changes. I will get the log-in page, enter details and the simple menu appears but if I click on any of the three options or click on "Advanced" it brings me straight back to the log-in page?? :erm:

Any help with this would be appreciated. :)

What speedtest site/server are you using and are you wired or wireless?

Been using speedtest.net with results gradually getting lower as the days gone on. Lucky to get about 40mb now :erm:

Have a few different PC's connected but the one I have been testing with is wired and is only 2m run to the superhub.

Can someone check the signal levels? Not sure what they should be at for 100mb.

Adding to the list of problems, I now seem to have an issue viewing some websites.

Had someone from tier 2 support connected into my PC yesterday. When he tried to log-in to a VM speed test site it kept saying the page could not be displayed even though I clearly had an Internet Connection.

I admit it does look like it would be a problem with that PC but I tried another 4 PC's and they all did the same. Brought one of the laptops that didn't work to my mates who is on a VM 10mb connection and the websites that didn't work now worked fine??

The superhub is completely standard at the minute but I am convinced it is causing the problem.

This accursed device, for some stupid reason, has a rediculously short inactivity timeout. Only a minute or so I think.

So you make a change, check it is working, go back the shub's menu and infuriatingly find you have to log in again.

Try switching off firewall and ip flood detection and port scan detection in the services option

Hopefully you'll soon get the new firmware update soon and that might help with your problems.

Originally I thought that this was the case too but unfortunately not :erm:
If I log in and click straight onto an option such as "Connection" it brings me back to the login screen again as if it had never been entered.

Thanks for the help :). Gave it a go but still having no luck.

Going by the amount of problems we are all having atm would any of you's think about going back to the 50mb? Or would you prefer to hold out and hope for the R29 firmware to fix everything?

I can only go off the last 24 hours .. But I am very impressed with the r29.. Not a single drop out, lower ping, great networking file transfer, 5Ghz working well and I think the 2.4ghz signal is slightly stronger (might just be me). Modem mode on belkin play router is much faster than before.

I would seriously wait for the r29 as it's getting real positive remarks from the testers.

Does sound good, especially with the feedback you's are giving it. Just hope they roll it out sooner rather than later. Nothing can be worse than r26 imo.

Superhub has reset 6 times today already and the speeds are up and down with the highest being around 30mb atm. The 100mb team have been helpful but there is nothing they can see wrong with my connection so can only put my problems down to the firmware atm.

What sort of speeds can you get through your wireless?

Think ill just have to hold out for the best.

Thanks

I'm on vip50

This was on the r26 2.4Ghz wifi

This is on the r29 wired

And this is r29 2.4Ghz

And this is r29 5Ghz

Taken just now so not the best time to do a speed test. To be honest it's not the speed it's the fact that I haven't had a single drop out or lock up in over 24 hours compared to 5 hub resets an hour with r26

Really good difference in results there :)

I know what you mean by the resets :td: Look forward to r29 now. Just hope it cures my unstable connection and poor wifi.

Resets are just my way of saying I've had to press the reset on the hub and also re-boot my networking pc's + laptop.

On r26 every 15 minutes or so the whole lot would just stop with limited networking and nothing but a hub reset and re-boot would solve it.

So you can see how happy I am now. lol

Sorry for dragging up an old thread. Unfortunately having problems with my broadband again and was wondering if someone could help me out.

There was an engineer working on a cabinet at the bottom of my street today with my connection being lost for all of a few seconds. When it came back on I found my speeds had dropped with results like 10mb from speedtest.

I've checked the event log where I found different errors. Also checked the connection status only to find the power levels moving around, ranging from +4 to -1. SNR also moves around ranging from 41 to 35.

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t212/4motions/vm2.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t212/4motions/vm1.jpg

Would be worth my while contacting VM to arrange an engineer? Or is this normal and not have anything to do with the speed problems I'm experiencing?

Thanks
