Should I turn my superhub off before I go to bed or doesn't it matter? what does everyone else do?

I leave mine on. It was calculated by a member on here that it costs literally nothing to keep it running all year.

Thanks.

I was more concerned with if there are any over-heating concerns with the Superhub etc.

I wouldn't worry too much about over heating. I've monitored mine and it hardly heats up. VM wont max the thing out neither so again, don't worry about it if its working.

Well not exactly will cost about £1.30 per month running 24/7 (in my case), as a comparison my TiVo box costs me £2.70 again running 24/7

The Hub as quite a high power consumption at 12.7 watts, more than the unit it replaced in my case,

"Calculation"
At 12.7w it takes 79 hours to use a unit, 720 hours in a 30 day month, 720 div 79 = 9.11 units per month 9.11 x your unit rate to get total

But I leave mine on 24/7 as well

The main reason I would switch it off is, those over bright pesky status lights, I have them tapped up, but the light just gets reflected back into the HUB and out the top grill

I switch all mine off when I am not using BB, My Samsung 3100 V+ box comsumes 18 Watts in standby so that is only on when I am watch TV or set to record.

Well I think you have got it right:)

And in fairness I did the same as you with my V+, but with TiVo it's a bit different, I have suggestions switched on and some are recorded during the night

The good thing is that the TiVo box is a bit better on power consumption than the V+ (IMO)

As for Broadband, well I have a VM S/Hub working well as a modem,

So I am reluctant to switch it off as it may not start up again with the same configuration:shocked:
