Are these modem stats ok?
I had a 15db attenuator fitted and my power levels were:
Downstream:
-2.1
-1.5
-2.9
-2.7
SNR:
41
Upstream:
41
I thought that the downstream power levels were getting close to the lower end of Optimum ( -3 to +7 ) so I decided to order a 10th attenuator off eBay (couldn't source a 12db one) to try and get it nearer the middle of optimum
My levels are now:
Downstream:
2.2
3.2
3.1
2.9
SNR:
42
Upstream:
41
Looks healthier to me?

Your power levels are excellent. Being near to -3 isn't any kind of worry. Being at +7 is a worry because many modems (including mine) won't sync at +7.
Not syncing at 7 ? the limits changes all the time but generally sit with -10 to +10 ...

Odd. The Superhub / Netgear CG3101D is just fine at those power levels.

A few VMNG300's (mine included) get flaky at or above +7db, mine specifically is more stable at -10 than it is at +7. General feedback seems the Superhub is more tolerant of higher downstream levels than the VMNG300.
Ive never came across the 7db threshold, i've seen loads of vmng300s on 10db or higher whirring away, its only when I've done a healthcheck while fixing other services i've came across it and attenuated.

It's not VM.

I've had one sync downstream at 15dBmV - this was being tested at the tap to confirm performance.
