Just wondering all power level graphs (near enough) I have seen on here people have had snr levels in the mid 40s but mine are in the low 30s?

Everything has worked fine so far but its only been warm hot weather so i'm not sure how the winter will affect it

Bit tricky to raise a fault saying 'My service is fine but I'm worried about the numbers on my modem'.

The cold weather can affect things either way so isn't a guide. Unless you are seeing issues may as well not worry about it. VM will be aware that the numbers are a bit low and will get to it as and when.

In all the years I've worked with, supported, trained and shouted at customer facing agents :) I have never heard one book a tech off the back of modem SNR levels. There has always been a power level issues (etc) as well.

I know a lot of techs that only ever look at upstream power too .. so to be honest, don't worry about it. Use the service until you find an issue.

Thank-you :) It wasn't out of complaint just curiosity as many others show SNR in the high 40s

35 is the recommended minimum I'm told, and yours is borderline. Any lower and it would be a fault in itself.

I'm new to the forum but have read numerous posts here in the past to find info on virgin broadband services.
I am on the 50mb broadband and last week, after a request for a new router to replace the DIR615 that wont reassign IP addresses if any of the clients are disconnected and reconnected (turning the xbox off etc etc), I was told that they would send me a brand new "superhub" instead....
All well and good until I read the posts on here and numerous other websites saying how bad the Superhub is!
I'm now reluctant to change over, especially as I have read that there's a good chance my speeds and ping times could get even worse... which leads me on to my question (or questions!)

I've checked my modem status and it looks like my power, SNR and correctable/uncorrectable codewords are, shall we say, less than ideal... I'm no expert so I thought I'd ask the question on here and see whether I need to be arranging an engineer... and whether I should be asking for anything in particular in order to fix my connection. At the minute I have quite bad lag in games on both xbox and PS3, and from the think broadband quality monitor I get really high ping spikes. Also, my upload speed never gets above 4mb and is usually around 3mb. Download is, for the most part, usually >40mb... but sometimes it drops to ridiculously low levels (<10mb)

My modem status is copied below:

So, is this bad enough to warrant an engineer, and what (if anything) should I ask for other than checking/adjusting power levels?
And if I used the superhub would this destroy my connection altogether? (I read that its even more sensitive to SNR, power levels etc)

Thanks in advance

Kev

Just thought I'd add to the above to show a bit more info

This is actually quite a good one...

Your downstream power and SNR are both too low.

Also, you should start your own thread.
