Hi all, am on 10mb now last month I should of had the free upload speed increase, like my friends already have who live in Preston area and today I thought I might give 151 a ring which I did and got told the UBR I am on cant handle those speeds my modem is a webstar 2100 the agent then put me on hold am guessing to speak to 2nd line now the agent told me that I will be getting a new modem then hopefully it will move me over to the new docsis3 and then the agent said if it doesnt then they cant guarantee the free upload speed increase is this true?

No it's waffle. You do need a new modem, you should get the increase as soon as you plug that guy in.

It won't be a DOCSIS 3 modem for 10Mb, should still give you the speed uplift though.

I thought the webstar 2100 was capable of 10mb down and 1mb up obviously not. How long it normally take for a new modem to come out?

Not long and probably a policy of VM's more than a major technical issue.

what modem do you think they will send out?

Are they just not sending the new upload speed config files to the EPC2100 then? I understood it is capable of operating at the new speeds. From my experience this is a very stable modem

No its appears not. I have even switched the modem off for 10 minutes and I did that several times last month you know just to see if the upload speed had gone through. The agent was on about hopefully when I get a new modem it will switch me over to the docsis3 equipment, then I will get the speed increase "hopefully" but not guaranteed he said. When the agent put me on hold am guessing he would of gone through to 2nd line what would they have done? would they have tried sending the config file to the modem?

This is the modem I have: WebSTAR EPC2100R2

A shame as that is a good modem.....
