I'm on 50Mb with a superhub and i'm sat in another downstairs room to the superhub which is in the frontroom and i get a solid 50Mb most of the time by using a dongle as it is an older laptop.

But sometimes especially today it keeps hovering between 24-26Mb on a speedtest. Then i unplug the dongle for a minute then plug it back in and it's back at 50Mb.

Most of the time it stays at 50Mb for hours before i have to unplug the dongle but today it keeps going back down to 24-26Mb after a few minutes. Anyone know why it does that?

Wi-Fi autonegotiates the speed based on the best it can do for the strength of the signal, if the signal strength drops, it may lower the target speed for a more stable connection.
