Please do not bump threads

Call 0800 052 0800.. VMB fixed IP's are DHCP allocated, not sure if it'll still be the same but previously you needed to register online the MAC of the connected device. The customer support team will tell you the exact method needed and also the URL, username and passwords needed to perform such an IP registration.

I've got to ask the question - if you don't understand the networking terms - why do you need a fixed IP? Tell us what you are trying to do and we might be able to help. The above comment "i have the Fixed ip only when i connect through my wireless it shows a diffrent ip address. " I take it is missing the words 'with a cable'?

yes i have to connect through another companies portal which requires a static ip we have 5 laptops which need to connect via wireless.

The wifi will be on a local IP and not the LAN (unless you got the 5 IP package) at that point a router isn't what you need but instead you need a WAP which will enable you to allocate an IP to each device.

As ShadowTD says you need to specify exactly which service you have, how many IP's you got and what you expect to happen (WAN IP's to the wifi???? )

The modem will allocate the static IP to the router automatically, the router will then connect to the laptops via a local address again via DHCP (192.168.*.*) (both devices will automatically set up gateways/dns)

Try going to http://www.whatismyip.com/ on the laptop and you'll see that it should be on the external static IP for outside comms..
