Hi I`m on Vip 50 at the moment with a tivo box downstairs and my old V+ box upstairs. I`ve just noticed that the 100mb is available in my area.
I pay £100.55 just now for vip50 but before I ring up can someone tell me how much the vip 100 should be and are there any installation and activation charges ?
Cheers

I enquired about this. I was told it was £113.55 for the VIP 100 and there would be no activation or installation charges. Hope this helps.

I got told it was £10 more from VIP50 to VIP100 so another classic Virgin pricing mess......unless the new price is because of the line rental increase which I was hoping would be absorbed by VIP bundles but I guess that's being a bit optomistic.

£10 more for a service that normally costs £10 more? Yeah, total mess there.

If you chose to read all the thread it was based on the comment before mine where ScottSilver had been told VIP100 would rise to £113.55.
Now I have not been at school for a while but adding £10 to the price of VIP50 at £100.55 doesn't usually come out to £113.55

You certainly seem to have it in for Virgin don't you.

Sorry, what? I was saying VM's pricing policy is perfectly fine and you still choose to troll. Go away.

You were told it would be £10 extra.

Scott was told it would be £113.55.

Blackthorn currently pays £100.55

Now I have not been at school for a while but without knowing what Scott pays now or what Blackthorn will pay afterwards we cannot calculate the difference, hence why he's asking. Or in other words you can't find out what A + B equals when you don't know A.

Just because you pay one price doesn't mean everyone else pays the same. Different people pay different prices. The world doesn't work the same for everyone.

Fair enough we do not know for sure what ScottSilver pays now or if he has VIP50 + extras. He doesn't even say he is on VIP.
I took it for granted that as the OP said he was on VIP50 and ScottSilver says I enquired about this I presumed he was also on VIP50.

I then mention that it wouldn't be the first time Virgin quote different prices depending on who you speak to or even if the system says it is free.
Only a few months ago I upgraded to VIP50 as it was free activation and kit but received a £40 fee in my next bill. I had to get that refunded.

Ultimately whatever a computer system tells you or even a CS rep at Virgin you need to check your bill thoroughly after.

I only have the 100Mbit and XL Phone now but yes I did enquire about the VIP 100 and was told with Tivo (as the OP has) it would be 113.55.

Like I say, people will pay different prices for the same thing, which is par for the course for any provider. Some people will have referral discounts, retention deals, refer-a-friend bonuses, etc. so the only way to find out "your" price is to phone them yourself.

That said I'll agree it's not good if you get a different price depending on who you talk to, but then again retentions have the power to offer better deals, and that's pretty much universal with all telecoms providers too.
