Until your new one is activated therer's not much help can be given. Does the old one not still work?

im no expert on this, but im pretty sure they should be activating the modem over the phone, as only the media hub and superhub are given out now, that probably why your getting the activation page for it.

With the modem, every time you change the device that is directly connected to it, you need to do a power cycle

My daughter recently had a 256 posted out to replace a 250.
They ended up sending out a second 256 as the first one was faulty.
(Fault as per your post)

I expect that you are still in the Walled Garden because you will only get the Activation screen if that is the case as you do not have a public ip address.

You need an agent to realize this and remove you from the Walled Garden and get you to reboot the modem as this will then give you a public ip address and get you online.

New one hasn't been activated yet then. Ring retentions in the morning, you'll get UK support then most likely.

If he rings 151 in the morning after 0800 he will get a UK agent.

Sounds good!
We take over at 0800 and he should get one of us shortly after that time, he could call Retentions but it saves on time.

Been on the phone ten times now, ran 151 and got through to overseas this guy was telling me I had not plugged my modem in!! I'm not soft with computers etc,so in the end got fedup and i put the phone down this time.

I rang again and pressed for thinking of leaving Virgin and got through to the UK and the guy said he would put me through to Liverpool, so after doing more tests he said he thinks the Modem is faulty and he is going to send one out tomorrow.

If it works, it will only let you change your password or setup another mailbox.

Intranet or not, I'm right :D

It is going automated so clicking Activation will be a thing of the past, plus we get to many calls after modem swaps where it refuses to work and we have to remove them.

The process may say it should work but in many cases it fails which is why I expect they are automating it because at present it generates to many calls.
