I still dont know why people associate eggs with the crusifiction of Jesus.... Surely it's meant to be a symbol of the resurrection not the crucifixion?

I think it was because they gave out eggs at the event. like at Xmas the 3 kings gave presents.

I think the rabbits might be because there were a lot of them running around on the hills.

It's all to do with fertility and rebirth ,eggs have been used for 1'000's of years as a sign of rebirth and adopted by the christians .Hares and rabbits again are a symbol of fertility and used at this time of year by many cultures to symbolise the rebirth of the earth during spring time

Eggs are meant to symbolise rebirth.

As for the bunny (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_Bunny) - I don't get that one myself.

edit - OOOhhh - I just found this....

"Easter eggs for the visually-impaired
Beeping Easter eggs are Easter eggs that emit various clicks and noises so that the visually-impaired children can easily hunt for Easter eggs.
Some beeping Easter eggs make a single, high-pitched sound, while other types of beeping Easter eggs play a melody.

Since 2008, the International Association of Bomb Investigators and Technicians (IABTI) have sponsored a nationwide charity campaign in the U.S., building beeping easter eggs every year for visually impaired children."

I want one :)

You learn something new everyday, Thanks Martyh.

Still think beer is a good idea, I dont eat alot of chocolate, especially not chocolate and beer together.

speaking of rebirth, isnt a butterfly a better symbol?
