Hi All

Clearly you are all experts in your own field. I am an electrician and have been for 10 years I have worked in all areas of the industry and have even dabbled in a bit of your works to help out customers.

I had been looking for a change of job and landed one for a contractor not naming any names to be a residential installer.

Looking at the forum none of you seem to be happy and im starting to think that i may be taking a step down in my career rather than side stepping into a new venture.

Is it any good? Are you all laughing at my decision and thinking that im mad for wanting to change? Is there a career in this line of work?

Is this company begining with M any good?

Thanks Again

Paul

You mean McNicholas?

if your changing from being a full time electrician to working in the cable service industry then you may find the wages are slightly lower, but the job is what you make of it. People complain about any job... its human nature. If its the type of work you enjoy then im sure it will be a good job.

And yes, you can make a career of it, with the way VM are expanding there will be opportunities in future to progress in the company, you will just need to work at it.

if its map get out while you still can. Mcnics are a good company but tbh cable aint what it used to be vm are putting more and more pressure on the installers and dont seem to care what your workload is you have to meet there targets. The money can be good (unless your with map) but you need to be fast and be willing to take extra work.
