View Full Version : Superhub UBR + Low Upstream.. Firmware issue?
I was told the Superhub has a known problem with low upstreams on Cisco UBRs which mine (Salf-5) apparently is.. and would require a firmware upgrade to fix.
Is there any details on this or when it will be fixed?
While 2 - 2.5Mbit is nice.. I did get that over ADSL

Sounds like a FOB to me.
What upsteam are you getting?

Would be intrested to know if there are issues with the Hub and cisco kit at the UBR.
Yeah got an email about superhubs connecting to cisco10ks. No fix as yet
is the email from virgin? could you explain the issue?

from my understanding, and i have the same issue here in norwich; its an incompatibility between the firmware on the router and the firmware on the ubr, only the superhub has it, not the std hub.
The question then remains will thisw be addressed when they decide to release the new firmware for the hub or does the UBR kit need to be upgraded?

its an issue between cisco and netgear, afaik virgin are aware but are a/. unable to do anything about it or b/. cba
i suspect its on the "to do" list, tm soon would be a guess i'd make
It's a known issue with no fix as yet, superhub = fail

Will this explain why my 50meg upload speed has dropped from 4.7meg to 2.4meg since fitting the Superhub as my modem stats are aparently spot on.
(All results with wired connections)
Sounds like a FOB to me.

2 - 2.5Mbit
Engineer told me the above...

Nationally distibuting a device that has a firmware incompatability with some UBR's, is almost unbelievable.
Nationally distibuting a device that has a firmware incompatability with some UBR's, without a projected fix date is just astonishing.

Great another Superhub issue. Anyone know what UBR nmal-9-0-0 is?
If I was to obtain a VMNG300 - could I have it activated on my account? Or is it not allowed?

Only if you obtained it from VM.
If I was to obtain a VMNG300 - could I have it activated on my account? Or is it not allowed?
If you obtained it from a friend or from Ebay it will be registered against another account and can never be added to your account so to all intents and purposes it would be a shiny paperweight.
My upload is now even lower:
Max raw bitrate has changed from: 20480 Kbits/sec to 10240 Kbits/sec and I'm only getting around 1.7Mbit/1.8Mbit now
This was on the 18th:

Good luck to get sorted, have had countless calls to virgin trying to confirm this issue but getting no where. The agents tend to have the attitude that if its not on their screen then nothing is wrong. Im in the same boat. Upload speed is capped although altering the MTU value gives me a bit more but will cause issues with my other connected devices.
Well they've acknowledged there's a incompatibility with the Cisco UBR I'm on and the Superhub, what they can't tell me is when it will be fixed..
That I don't mind, but somethings changed with my connection to drop it even further...
and now its back to how it was
