Hi all,
I was just informed on the VM help forum that my ubr isn't yet enabled for 1mbps upstream yet the VM rollout plan says my area has been done?
I wanted to reply on that forum but am currently using an Android phone and for some reason it won't allow me to type into the text boxes on that forum the same as in Google groups.
Anyone else the same?

That's strange what UBR you on, when you can click on connection and see what UBR your on and maybe someone in the know or on the same UBR might have more information

I didn't know we still had UBR's not able to do 1Mb up ..

Come on networks, get it together :)

I went to tools.virginmedia.com and it shows:
cpcX-dudl9-0-0-custXX.wolv.cable.virginmedia.com

According to the rollouts both DUDL and WOLV are all done?

I don't wish to sound like an idiot. But you have restarted your modem?

If a hubsite is listed as complete then all UBR + VXR chassis will have received the upstream upgrade. During rollout you may notice your speed increase before your hubsite is listed as upgraded but not vice versa.

If your having problems then I would give support a call.

Always the first port of call! If your using an older Ambit modem then it may need a kick start.

Indeed I have - I posted on the VM forum and the VM bloke there confirmed by UBR wasn't yet enabled...

of course there is plenty :)

whilst my UBR for eg. can do 1mbit up on the 30mbit tier, if I were to downgrade to 10mbit it would be 0.5mbit up not 1mbit up.

There will be 10s of bottom tier customers for every 30mbit customer so upgradng the bottom tier is the hardest to do.

My modem says I'm on 1mb but speedtests show between 220 and 350 kb

I've seen a few reports of "vice versa" happening, at least a half dozen different areas. It seems concievable that the PDF gets updated to "Complete" once e.g. >90% of an area is done especially if there's a few isolated "hard" cases to deal with.

Indeed, second-line confirming it hasn't been done suggests that vice versa does definitely occur.

The upstream uplift could take another year to complete so don't hold your breath Mr Panic :)

What modem are you using?

I am on the dudley UBR which is feed from wolvo, I am getting 3Mb upstream all the time, well around 3.11Mb

I know several people on UBR3 Dudley, none of them have had the upload increase as yet.

They are all on 10meg by the way.

What modem are you using?
WebSTAR EPC2100R2

Would that model work with the 20MB service by the way? Is it a good modem?

Yes is does work fine with 20Mb and we still supply them as replacement modems to all tiers below 30Mb along with the Ambit 256, so even if you called in it is very likely that the agent would actually replace your modem with the same model.

My sister in law who lives in the same road has this modem on 20Mb with the 2Mb upload as well and the modem is around 5 years old.

I stand corrected Masque, I thought they'd stopped them ages ago.

No we are still swapping them like for like if we send them out, and they get either the Cisco EPC2100v2 or the Ambit 256, they what whatever model the orderpicker grabs off the shelf until they decide to replace them with hubs.

How can it be like for like if it depends on what the orderpicker picks what's on the shelf?

Both modems do exactly the same job so like for like, especially if you consider that we can be replacing much older modems.

Think of like for like as not replacing with a hub but a standard modem.;)

I'm pretty sure we haven't ordered any 2100's for a long time, not saying we don't have any, but its been 256's for the last couple of years..

We have Cisco EPC2100v2 modems being sent out as of last year after they bought out Scientific Atlanta and sad as it may sound I can tell by the MAC address on the equipment screen.

In fact I remember Ben posting about in the Boiler room Staff forum at the time.
