Anyone using homeplug networking with a superhub?
I'm looking for a more stale PS3 connection when my superhub comes and was thinking of trying these-any recommendations??

Thanks

I have not used it with the super hub however I have installed many networks using Ethernet over mains technology with great success in situation where wireless signals did not achieve desired results

I use Devolvo Home Plugs. The speed via the Home Plug is much slower then connecting directly. I actually get a faster speed on the wireless than the Homeplug!

There are about 3-4 different speed standards on homeplug, which one is yours Andy?

Most of the homeplug 200's are fine providing they don't have to go through a surge protector at any stage as this will either kill the connection completely or drastically reduce the throughput speed.

thats a good point, most have a pass through, so should always be first against the wall socket.

My Solwise 85Mbs homeplugs, installed in a ten year old house, one upstairs one down, both directly plugged in reduced my BW from 20 to 3 tops. Didn't work out why as VM decided to move the modem for me (and flood my office at the same time :).

Just tried them downstairs with the superhub and they seem to work a treat. Based on 10 minutes of testing,

85 isn't that high now, there are at least 200 out now

Hmm interesting, wonder what that translates to in real word speeds.

It's all a far far cry when I was using 2x serial cables to connect 2 PC's together in the 90's LOL

is it also true that homeplugs will only work on one ringmain ??

That used to be the case, the newer ones are happy as long as it is via the same fusebox.

So something like this would be good then?

Yes but at that price I'd be looking at pass throughs. There are cheaper places than Maplin for exactly the same equipment or better.
