Having a BT phone, and since switching to Virginmedia, besides being unable to get 'caller display', (am told that this is available for an extra fee), answerphone messages will not record.:td:
Can anyone recommend a phone that would be compatible with VM cable ?.
Thanks for looking, and any suggestions would be appreciated.

What do you mean by answerphone?

Do you have an answering machine or are you talking about voicemail (1571) service; if the latter, dial CS on 150 and ask them to set voicemail up

Thanks progers, and yes, I have voicemail which I don't like, and the message recording feature on the BT phone does not record, so I wonder if another phone, ie, Panasonic as suggested by the previous chap would do this.

Only had cable phone line for the last 18+ years. Various DECT phones from BT Freestyle to Philips. Only issue we had with previous phones was with charging the handsets. So I have no idea what issues there may be with your BT phone as technically the majority are all pretty much the same.

I can't see why the BT answerphone shouldn't work, I used to have one and it worked OK.

I use Siemens DECT phones, have a look at http://www.cordless-phones.uk.com/ligo/ usually best prices and sell both Panasonic & Siemens

You'll need to ask VM to remove the voicemail on the line or your answerphone won't "record".

The VM voicemail must be picking it up before your 'phone does.
