This has been going on over a year now.

During busy evenings on the Internet such as tonight, it gets slower, and slower until it doesn't work at all.

I am on 50Mbit.

And I think this is an improvement as it is now working. It even took 10 minutes for the cable modem to register as the link was that over subscribed.

I was told a year ago by an engineer that they need to upgrade it as the area has a lot of 50MB customers. They still have not. Most days are good then some Sundays and busy days like tonight it just goes to nothing.

Sorry but if my speeds were like that for more than a month never mind a year i would have moved supplier. Even ADSL would perform better than that.

Well had a telphone call today with a very helpfull guy. He informed me they have over 200 modems on my network connection. They said this would be fixed within a week. Gave me a free month. I was going to write that speed was a lot better tonight, but alas the speed is dropping again as I write this.

I'm on wired Internet. Netgear 12 port Gigabit Router and Draytek 2930 router. They are all fine. I live in City Centre Manchester and the 100+wireless networks I see mean terrible WiFi all the time, so would never use Wifi for testing.

city boy I make that mistake often, if you see improved speeds, wait before praising as it will often be just short lived, could be due to simply more people choosing to not download that day in your area.

Complain to the CEO's office, they will be able to get you info regarding the situation and will, if appropriate, compensate you.

It took 3 months to sort this out in Leicester, (although it seems they have broken the overlay network in the process)!!!

You should be on 50Mb? If that many people are affected then I think there would be more noise on here or the Virgin Community forums? Are you sure that the Modem levels are OK etc??

Good luck!
