Cable Box Remote Code

Hi we have a samsung digital Virgin cable box SMT-2110C and need to use a large button control for my partially sighted Mum but can not find the code and none of the codes that came with the Remote, seem to work. Anyone out there able to help?? There was an earlier post (2008) about this where they said to try the Pace Codes, which apparently worked, however they did not state the Code.

Any help will be much appreciated.

What make/model remote is it?

Hi and thanks for the welcome,

The Remote is a 6 in one Jumbo Universal which, as far as I can tell, is manufactured by Maplin Electronics (stated on rear of Manual). We left the packaging at my Mums.

I suggest you try these:
154, 155, 186, 014, 034, 006, 036, 037, 038, 075, 136,147

Failing that, try this:
Make sure the Samsung box is turned on
(1) Press & release the CABLE button
(2) Press & hold the "CODE SEARCH" button until the LED stays on.
(3) Point the remote at the Samsung box. Press and release the POWER button.
(4)The LED will flash as the remote is searching for the code.
(5) As soon as the Samsung box turns off press and release the "ENTER" button.
The remote should NOW be programed

Hey there Spiderplant,
Any further suggestions? Tried all the codes etc. three digits did not work so tried with a Zero on the front, still none worked or the procedure you suggested.

Hi RWR, I have just found these instructions for the Jumbo Universal which differ just slightly from Spiders suggestions so may be worth giving a try.

Have just found out it is a Nikkai Large Button Universal Remote Control, not the Jumbo one. Any further info on code gratefully received anyone?

None of the manufacturer codes look very promising, so try the PowerScan.
