View Full Version : upgrading XL to XXL
I'm supposed to have an enginer come this week to upgrade my internet service to 50MB. However, I'm unable to take a holiday from work so I plan to leave my computer switched on.
Is the engineer able to install the XXL service from the guest account on windows 7?
My user account(admin account) has some sensitive information and files!

The guy in my area who installs 50mg insists all customers have a working pc on install. As for the porn just leave a box of handkerchiefs for the installer to clean up the mess. Oooh can say that
So a guest account should be fine?

Technically you can do it without the pc, it's just a simple modem swap, I just prefer to check everything before I Mark the install ad complete

Do they install new wiring or use the existing stuff?

Its all the same, the only diference is the 50meg is less tolerant of out of spec signals, so thats the only adjusting that gets done
well got it installed today but it seems I didn't get a wireless N adapater.
I told my brother to make sure to ask for it but he forgot...will they send one to me if I ring up?

Maybe, I've had the same and so far I've called up 3 times and been told one will be sent but have still not received it, maybe they have communication issues between India and the Uk as each time it was the Indian call centre I was getting through to due to having to call in the evenings

I had a problem getting my N dongle (ooh er missus). The installer showed me his work chit, and it stated that the adapter would be posted out. I also had to call 3 times, leaving a week between each time.
On the third call, I got through to India, unusually for the time of day I was calling, and after explaining that this was the third time I'd called, he confirmed that two orders were on my account and couldn't understand why they had not been delivered. He then went to talk to his manager and came back to say that the order code had changed, and he promised me that I would have an adapter in 3-5 days.
Yeh I thought, heard that before.
Two days later, I had a text to say my adapter would be delivered within a two hour window, and it arrived as promised. :tu:
Could be worth asking them to check the code.

Actually after that third attempt i have finally got it although what i found stupid is they didn't tell me when it would be delivered, then while at work at 9:45am i had a text so say it would be delivered on that day between 9am and 12, hmmmmm bit late telling me that on the day at 9:45am isn't it as now i'm at work,it said in the text it would need to be signed for but luckily i got home after work and it had been put through the letterbox
why don't they just give them out on the installation day instead of posting?
