No Broadband till sat not happy

Ive got problems with my internet and been on the phone to Virgin who say that my router is not picking up a ip address for some reason so they are sending out someone for sat.

Why can they give a ip address at there end or is there no way for me to input it?

ive got all green lights on my wireless router and all the blue lights are on my other router but no internet.

when i try to get onto the internet it comes up that it cant find a network.

any advice please

Try connecting directly from modem to computer to rule out the modem

I have just put the pc into the router not into the wireless router and it works so its not the main router as they said it was.

I have a Spare wireless router from virgin could i plug that in?

No reason why you can't use your spare router and you will be plugging it into the modem not main router.

Well after 4 calls to Virgin about the problem i had its now sorted.

I took out the old wireless router and put in the spare one i had and got it going so all seems ok but why did i get 3 Diff things from them that could be wrong? i kept telling them it was the settings in my old router but they were not having any of it.

Anyway all sorted now.
