View Full Version : Multiple Xbox's only one open NAT!

So, I recently moved house and was given the new modem/router hub all was fine and dandy until we had a LAN party and only one Xbox could have an open Nat when we went online together.

Portforward only works on one xbox.

UPnP only works for one xbox.

I did not have this problem before with my own router, and to be frank it is really really annoying to the point that I will change ISP's if I can't have 3-4 Xbox's with an open NAT like before.

So are there any solutions and would it be possible to buy a router and use it as an access point with something like dedicated DMZ ports or whatever?

Thanks in advanced.

So someone changed their router and it worked, but as mine is a modem/router hub (VMDG280) I am unable to replace it, so if I were to buy http://www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/equipment/37-router-reviews/131-dlink-dir-655-review and use it as an access point would that open the NAT for all xbox's with the microsoft certified firmware?

Nope as it's the NAT that does all the work... On your modem/router can you set it to NO NAT (which effectively will turn off the router)?? If yes then you can put the dr655 after it as the router

What you could do is give each XBox a static IP and in the router tell it each IP and open the relevant ports.

I have set my router to open ports 53 to 3074. since then no problems with GTA:IV & MW2.

If the game server only uses one port then you can;t forward to both
