Broadband Installation Procedure

Hi first post and not a techie so please be gentle.

I am getting TV, phone and Broadband installed on Wednesday.

I have today received the VM welcome pack and with regards to the Broadband it states

"Note your wireless Kit needs to be set up before your broadband connection".

Should i be receiving the modem/wireless kit before Wednesday? Or does the VM guy bring this with him?

Does he set the wireless part up for me?

I have a laptop with an internal bit for wireless use but have never used it as i couldnt get it to work originally so have always just used the ethernet wire, but this time i really want to go wireless.


Any help appreciated.

Plug your pc in to the router You can setup the wifi by entering http://192.168.0.1/ in to your browser it will ask for a username and a password these are on the back of the modem/router on the left hear is a pic with 6 steps to setup the wifi from there

The installer will setup wifi if your on 50meg and if your on a lower teir its a hub now so the wifi is pre-set. Make sure you have the laptop wifi side of things setup

So i'll just need to do this when the VM guy comes? Im getting 10mb btw.

I take it he has the router/modem?

It's the hub and will be pre set and he will bring it unless your getting a QuickStart as they will post it to you for you to install

He won't fix your computer
