When we upgraded from 10Mb to 20Mb about 6mths ago our speed never exceeded 11Mb :(
Today we bought a new Mac Airport Extreme router and our speed on a Saturday afternoon, which I would imagine is a pretty busy time of day, is over 19Mb on both our wireless pc's which I think is pretty good :)
Also run TCP optimiser on your computers as this will also ensure everything is running well.

If you were using a router before it could have been faulty we upgraded a month ago and got one of the new virgin hubs and get excellent speeds ranging from 19.10 to 19.75/80 on wireless.

The TCP Optimizer is a free, easy Windows program
