View Full Version : Ventrilo suddenly not working

This morning, Ventrilo has suddenly stopped working on my Virgin Media connection.

It works fine using my Iphone's Internet connection.

I did a traceroute to the IP of the server.

This is a screenshot. As you can see there are problems along the way. Is this a Virgin issue and should I call them or just hope it fixes itself in time?

Those aren't problems, just the routers on the path weren't interested in responding to you.

The traceroute is fine I'm afraid, check your own local equipment, especially your router at 192.168.2.1 as that is the most likely cause of issues. If it works ok tethered to your phone it's unlikely to be your PC, which leaves your router.

Thanks for your help. I have no idea what it could be because I have never made any changes to my router in the 2 years I have had it. Never logged into the config panel.I just left it sitting on top of the DVD player and never went near it.

Any new security software installed or upgraded recently?
Traceroute may be ok but the ventrilo program could still be blocked by a security/firewall setting.

Have you tried a different vent server from the pc?

It suddenly started working again this morning. Weird.
