Hi people, I think I'm coming back to VM as even traffic managed speeds are now faster than my ADSL, and BT about to push up Line Rental so they can get lost.

All I want is a Phone and Internet (not TV), but I want free 'self-install'.
I dont want to pay £15 for them to send a modem and router in the post.

anyway to get it?

You could try asking them.

I did via their online chat. (that is really patronising if you've ever tried it - they are just hitting pre-programmed phrases - Awesome! That's great! etc )

I'll try phoning...

Depends what Package of Internet your having if its 50meg you have no choice as they send an Engineer out and thats £20

If your going for 10-20 you can request it be posted out although you will still be charged the amount quoted as far as Im aware.

I switched back a few weeks ago and was still charged 20 quid regardless

Not sure if this should be in the Installation Section

a one off £15 is low anyway, over a year is just over £1 a month.

I am sure the equipment they send no matter how cheap it looks is worth more than £15.

And 30 is just over £2 a month. TV license is just a few pence a day.

I just want to avoid paying £15 if there is a way thats all. I'll be paying them a monthly charge already. Setup fees annoy me for some reason. and I like trying to avoid them.
No harm in asking - which I haven't done yet. but like you say, if they built the price into the monthly charge then I probably wouldnt bat an eyelid.

Get free TV (M) and then you'll be eligible for free installation

The 15 quid is built in to your monthly charge on the first month.

Example: Your bill is say £38, Setup is £15 Your bill for the first month will be £53 and for every month after £38

Although You will be required to pay a month in advance

So Month one on the above example would be £91 including Setup

I'm in a similar situation, but everything's already installed and i still have the modem.

My account was closed due to non payment last november, have recently been in contact and have payed off the debt.

The guy i spoke to said to call sales in about 5 days, to set up a new account, but never made mention of a setup fee.

I'm probably only going to have BB L, with no other services this time around..

Anyone know if i'll still have to pay the setup fee, if it's already good to go at this end?

How much is it to post the equipment nowadays. Is it around the 15 quid mark ;)

Cheers for the quick reply, least now i know.

Still, £15 is better than the £35 i've been seeing on other pages.

Guess i'll wear it..

Or just pop in and pick the equipment up from a store.. For free... you pay a £35 deposit and get that back on your first bill.. if your based in Nottingham there is one on Clumber Street, Main road from victoria centre to the square..(Ng1 3ed)
