View Full Version : Downstream power levels too high...but no apparent instability?

Hi there.

I was recently upgraded to 50Mb broadband. It's been installed for just under 2 weeks and so far, so good - speed tests consistantly show around 50.5 down and around 1.6 up, and stability & reliability are good.

However, I'm slightly confused by the fact that my downstream power levels are rather high. The guidance in the sticky on this forum suggests that I should be experiencing some problems.

Do my readings suggest that I should call an engineer to look at this, or should I just leave it alone on the basis that I'm not actually experiencing any problems with my BB?

From my cable modem this morning...

We would normally book an engineer for high downstream such as that but sometimes it just continues to work fine as in your case so I would leave alone at present unless the connection degrades.

If you ever need to call for 50Mb support then use 0800 052 0431.

Thanks for the quick reply Masque. I'll just keep an eye on it for now and call the number, as suggested, if I experience any problems.
