Speed issues in Luton LU2 area...?

I have been having issues with my connection speed the last two weeks. I'm on the 20mb package but I'm currently getting around 800k-1.2mb!

I can forget about using sites like YouTube, a standard 2 minute video can take upto 3-4 mins to buffer. Web browsing is poor and downloads are terrible. I'm currently trying to download a few BBC podcasts (only around 10-15mb each) and it's taking well over 7 or 8 mins.

I am just wondering if it's an area fault or if there is something wrong at my end....

Currently getting 1.4MB speeds and websites like YouTube are unusable. Any suggestions?

Edit: It's very slow during the day but in the evenings it's a joke. It's the same daily pattern, it's like someone flicks a switch and turns my service from poor to bad after 7pm...

I'm off of Luton and I appear to be ok (I think - I have LUTN in my connection) It might be an issue even more local - have you checked your modem's SNRs?

you should be able to read some stats - look at Downstream and Upstream SNR

Sounds like congestion at peak times
